Lincoln spent a few days in San Fran with some co-workers for a conference. He enjoyed all the good food and sights. We've decided the next time he has a conference I'm going with him. I can't wait!
The day after Lincoln got home we went to New Mexico for his Grandpa Webb's funeral. The only good thing about a funeral is seeing family members (and sleeping in a hotel, according to Evey).
The first night we went to a restaurant and Mae wrote her name!It was such a shock to us, she has never written anything before. I didn't even know she could make letters.
Heading back to Phoenix we stopped at Petrified Forest National Park. It was a fun place to see and it was nice to stop and stretch our legs.

I can't get over how cute Evey looks with her bangs! And Mae...She writes her name??? FANCY!
what fun you all have been having! Good for you!
Go Mae! When H started writing her name, it was "HMO". I started finding HMO on everything, and she's continued with that habit of writing/drawing on anything and everything...fortunately and unfortunately. Were you still around when she wrote, "HAHAHAHAHA" along our apt hallway, as she practiced writing her name?
She and toddler Sam drew all over their room and furniture in our house after getting markers for Christmas from Grma, and she's drawn all over the wall above her bunkbed here at the apartment, as well as the back of the middle seats on our van during this summer's vacation. OBVIOUSLY she hasn't had strict enough punishments. I learned, finally. I dislike physical punishment, but, nothing else has been working. When 2yro N walked through the apt with a marker--the day after we paid to have a wall repainted due to child scribbling--I took him to each scribble, said, "NO coloring on the ____." and SPANKED his cute little bum. And I gave him a hug better until he stopped crying. And then on to the next scribble! And the next, and the next, and the next.... He hasn't done it since! :) I need to scour H's room for any hidden doodles and do the same with her to make sure the lesson is learned before she does anything else.
