The highway running through Seagrove, NC is appropriately named Potter's Highway. Over 100 potters live in the area and have their homes/studios open to the public. Today we drove the 1.5 hours to Seagrove and check it out. We bought a few pieces that I think I'll love for a long, long time. There is something special about local artisan's work.

We then drove to NC Zoo that is just a few miles from Potter's Highway. We've been in Durham for nearly 2 years and going to the zoo has been on our list of things to do the whole time. It was stormy so our time at the zoo was cut a little short but we were still able to see most of the animals.

Two large gators sunning in the background.

One of the gorillas was just sitting there. He (or she?) wouldn't look over or move at all. It was kind of strange.

We thought the black bear area would be a hit with Evey but she seemed to be pretty indifferent about them.

You can only see the three giraffe's but there were also zebras and ostriches further up the hill.
