New Ride and Airplanes

First things first. We are now a two car family! The past few weeks we have been looking for a car that would be good for Lincoln to take to work. Saturday we purchased a 2009 Ford Focus. It's a good looking car and gets good gas mileage.

Sunday we went into DC to check out Theodore Roosevelt Island and Gravel Point Park. The peak of the changing fall colors has passed but it was still very pretty on the Island.

Gravel Point Park is at the end of the Reagan Airport runway. We were able to see dozens of planes come in (about 2 minutes apart). It was a little scary for Evey because it was loud and the planes were huge. I don't think the pictures do the experience we had justice.

Also, from Gravel Point Park, there is a great view of the National Mall across the Potomac River. In this picture you can see the Washington Monument. Evey was watching another plane come in.

That was the same park where we watched fireworks last 4th of July! The planes certainly come close. Congrats on the new car. Go Michigan made cars!

Congrats on the wheels! We'll probably get a second car by the time child #4 comes.....Ha, I just remembered H commenting on our need to get a new car as more kids came.
